Body Language Giveaways of The Interested Ex
According to Wikipedia,
Research has suggested that between 60 and 70 percent of all meaning is derived from nonverbal behavior.
That’s an awful lot of communication going on without any words being spoken! And the best part about all this ‘body language‘ is that most of it is subconcious so we’re not even aware of it most of the time.
Which is great if you’re trying to figure out whether your ex is interested in getting back together. Because they may well be telling you they’re happy to be apart and loving their new single life, or even how great their new lover is! But while they can control what comes out of their mouth, they can’t exercise the same control over those ‘non verbal’ communications. (note, neither can you!)
So what are some of the non verbal cues you can look out for? After all, the last thing you want to do is make a play for them and be rejected. If you were the one who was dumped first time around, you sure as heck don’t need to be dumped twice!
Working out whether or not your ex is interested in a reconciliation isn’t really that hard. It just needs you to take a little extra notice of their body language and a little less notice of their verbal language.
People can and do think before they speak. (unfortunately, not always enough, but that’s another story). Body language is more instinctive. We do it without thinking and even if we do try and think about it, that in itself is usually even more of a giveaway of our true feelings.
So is your ex giving you interested body language signals?
- The eyes have it.
We can’t help it. Eyes are the windows to the soul. And while you might think the saying’s a little corny, it’s very true. For example, if your ex’s pupils are dilated when they’re around you, it’s a pretty good indication they still find you attractive. And they can’t help it. Pupil dilation is an automatic reflex action.
- Kissable Lips
Ok, your ex is hardly likely to pucker up but watching their mouth can give you a clue as to whether or not kissing you is on their mind. Lips which are slightly parted can be a strong signal of sexual attraction. Even more so if this is followed by licking them whilst holding the gaze of another person.
- Getting Closer
Leaning in towards someone when you’re speaking or listening to them is a sure sign you’re interested. While not invading their personal space, leaning is a step towards checking whether such a closer move is likely to be allowed or not.
- Accidental Touching
Touching is very personal. If your ex is making excuses to touch you, such as removing a piece of lint from your clothing, then you’re onto a winner. This is definitely a giveaway that they’re still interested.
